What Is A Demonstration?
Thank
you for your interest in the Society for Creative Anachronism
Inc. (SCA) and the Shire of Castlemere. We can provide exhibits
of artisans and medieval craft, marshal combat, music performance,
and other informative services. As a not for profit organization,
we provide these demonstrations (demos) at no cost to you (though
a donation is always welcome).
Requesting a demo is an easy process and we look forward to
working with you. Below is what you'll need to request a demo.
Please afford AT LEAST
two weeks advanced notice (a month would be great!!!) to
provide for ample time to staff and plan your demo.

Silent Auction at C&C:
Greetings Castlemere,
I am in the process of organizing a silent auction to be held at Cutlasses & Corsaires. The proceeds will be used to start setting aside money for regalia in the event that we become a barony. Should we not become a barony, the money would revert to regular usage for the shire.
I plan to set up the items under the pavilion, next to the lyst field and in the middle of other activities, so everyone will have a fair chance at winning items without leaving their fun for too long (However, if it's 40 degrees and raining, I'll be in the feast hall). That being said, I am in need of donations to be auctioned off. Large items, small items, handmade artisan work, mundane items that every SCAer wants or needs. Books, music, garb, accessories, rattan, punch-tested fabric, armor, jewelry, armor repair kits, feast gear baskets, chocolate chip cookies, and so on. You can contact me to arrange for your item to be picked up, or you can give your donations to Aldis, Glenna, or Kenet to be passed on to me. If you are going to bring your donation directly to the site, please let me know ahead of time what you will be bringing and when it will be on site (freshly made, warm chocolate chip cookies?). Please attach a note to your donated
item with your SCA and mundane name, the estimated value of the item, and if you would like a receipt so you can deduct your donation from your taxes (yes, donations are tax deductible). Also (very important!), make sure you bring some money so you can bid on and purchase some of these items and support your shire. Let's see how much money we can raise!
In Service,

Just a note to say that we are still looking for donations for the silent auction that Baroness Cara is heading up at CnC..."
"I will be at bardic Tuesday and Thursday's meeting if anyone wants to bring something for the auction. If you cannot come to either function, you can bring it to Cara at CnC or you can contact me off list and I can arrange a pickup at a time and place that would work for both of us. Please let us know the price of the item for auction. This is tax deductable!
Thanks for your help and hope to see everyone at Cutlass and Corsaires this weekend!
