The "Shire of Castlemere" is a chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism, mundanely located in Jacksonville, Florida. We are a part of the fair Kingdom of Trimaris with members in Duval, Nassau, St. Johns, and Clay Counties.

The Society for Creative Anachronism (or S.C.A.)is a nonprofit organization dedicated to recreating the ambiance of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. We attempt to do this by researching and practicing such topics of interest as fighting, calligraphy and illumination, fencing, sewing, music, archery, armor making, cooking, needlework, weaving, feasting, dancing, brewing, heraldry, leather crafts, woodwork and more.

The S.C.A. "period" is defined to be Western civilization before 1600 AD, concentrating on the Western European High Middle Ages. Persons attending events must wear their best effort at pre-17th Century dress (garb) as stated in the Organizational Handbook. Period garb is mandatory between the hours of 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and 7:00 a.m. on the last day of the event.
Our regular group meetings are held weekly, on Thursdays,
7:30 pm – 9 pm at:
Robert E. Lee High School in the lunch room,
1200 McDuff Ave S, Jacksonville FL.  See you there!

Starting on June 5, 2008 Lee High School will be closed for the summer and the Shire will be meeting at the "Willow Branch Library" on Park Street, 7:30pm - 9pm, in the basement meeting room.
