February Business Meeting
Seneshal – Youth Marshal and Seneshal should have background checks finished by the end of the month so that youth fighter practice can be done on Sundays. Also, anyone wanting to be the youth minister see Ambra because Mistress Maven's term will be up at the end of the month.
Marshal – Practices every Sunday, pell practice every Tuesday along with bardic on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, light weapons practice on Wednesday.
Constable – Nothing to report
Librarian – The books have been transferred and soon she will be submitting a report monthly from the archives.
Youth Marshal – Youth fighting is covered for the month with Mistress Maven. His highness believes that youth fighting and activities are the life blood of the organization.
Herald – Bring me your submissions so that I can submit them to Kingdom.
Hospitaller – Feast gear has been accounted for and there are some items that are missing.
Arts & Sci Minister – January has been a busy month with work days being hosted by Ambra and her highness. Classes are scheduled for the next month and a half.
Chronicler – The Feb. edition of the castlelore is completed and been passed around. It will be sent to the webminister and put on the website shortly.
Events:
C&C – Come to the event, all types of competitions and events and the lysts. The lyst will be fought in the morning and melee's in the afternoon. Marshal's will be there to authorize for Gulf Wars both heavy combat and combat archery. The lysts are for heavy weapons, light weapons, youth fighting, and combat archery. Also will be bardic and warrior bardic competition. Baroness Cara is organizing a silent auction and it is in the Castlelore. Scrolls have been done by our scribes, and Mistress Maven is hosting scribal nights again and that is on the website.
If you see someone who deserves an award, make a mental note and submit a recommendation to the crown via the website, www.trimaris.org.

Heavy Fighting Marshal – Fighter practice on Sunday
Rapiar Marshal – Fighter practice on Sunday and War Practice on Sunday as well.
Exchequer – We have $5,312 as of year end in cash. We still haven't received the $200 deposit back from the site last year where 12th Night was held. This is her last meeting for the semester due to other commitments for the next few months. Year End forms are in to complete and is due by the 15th of Jan. Successor Deputy has resigned, however, the other deputy is ok with taking over sooner. Bank Signature sheet needs to be renewed.
Art Sci Min. – First class of the year is by Master Ivan which will be sumptuary law. The 2nd class of the month is TBD. The first class in Feb will be taught by Baronness Kinet. Bran has agreed to hold 2 basic brewing classes but they are not scheduled. Also there will be a chainmail class in the near future as well.
Chronicler – Jan Castlelore is out. Send submissions
Hospitaller – No new people at the meeting. Drake has Gold Key. If there is someone that needs new person information send them to him.
Recognition – The Senesaul would like to recognize Master Ifen for his work to the Shire.

Castlemere December Business Meeting - December
1, 2011

*Seneschal - HL Ambra -* Fundraiser
for Dags on the pavilion is still going
on. If you would like your passed personal arms painted onto
a dag of the
shire pavilion please give $10 and a copy of your arms to the
exchequer
Baroness Cara and we will see that they get put on to the pavilion.
If
your arms are not passed you may pay for the place holder till
they are.
12th Night will be held at
the Masonic Lodge on Arlington on January 7th,
2012 at 6pm. The Stronghold and Suderholt have been invited
as well.
Period food is encouraged for the pot luck meal. A prize will
be given for
the best period dish!! Please bring an ingredient list so that
those with
sensitivities can watch what they eat. Also bring a gift if
you would like
to participate in the gift exchange.
Cutlasses and Corsairs is also
coming up. The theme is Sir Francess Drake.
There will be Fighting, Bardic, Classes, Fun, and Feast!! What
more could
you ask for. Baroness Cara has oak limbs in her yard that we
can use for
fire wood at the event if someone will come get them. See Lady
Egelina for
Cornerstone of Castlemere voting. The list will be printed in
the next
Castlelore as well. The rapier community is planning to bring
back the
well-loved Tavern Brawl this year with fantastic prizes!! Anyone
who would
like to volunteer to help at the event please see Drake.

see who is not last!!

getting them all in on time.
Thank you to Katerina for all her service this
year. (Ambra had a small
token of appreciation for her as a present)
Theo will be taking over the constables office
in December from Dimitri.
Isobel will be the new librarian when the books
get transferred.
*update since Thursday….the books have been
picked up and will be given to
Izzy on Tuesday. (or at least the first load J)
Godfrey will be taking over as chronicler for
the next several months for
HRH Bryndis…starting January or February.
*Hospitalier – Master Ifan
**– *The doomsday report is in. The newcomer
social was very well received we will be planning to do this
again. See
Drake if you need anything from gold key. Please give him more
than
24-hours notice before an event that you need something.
*Exchequer – Baroness Cara*
– As of the 21st we have $5412. This month we
received a check from the kingdom to close out the Summer ArtSci/Duke
U. Our
profits were $618.00. We also received a check for ~$17 for
our Gulf Wars
Volounteers last year. Thank you to all who gave their time
at war to
support us. Fasti has contacted the Springfield Women’s club
yet again and
they are continuing to state that the check is in the mail.
He will be
visiting them in person soon to encourage a quicker result.
*Arts and Sciences – Lady Egelina*
– First , thanks to all of you who
taught classes this year. The Class this month will be that
we are going
to play games and socialize. Bring any period games you know
and snacks
and we will have a great time.

– I would like to say Thank you to Godfrey who
will be taking over for me for the next several months. If the
officers
could please get their reports into him each month by the 21st
for the
Castlelore it would make me feel better about handing him this
job. Thank
you again for all the contributions this month to the Castlelore.
There is
a recipe from Isobel which if it isn’t perfectly period is darn
close. (and
sounds really nummy) she serves the bread with Bruchetta and
has included
that recipe as well. Thank you to an anonymous poet in the shire
for a
beautiful poem about his lovely lady.
*Librarian – (Ambra)* – Isobel
will start getting the boxes transferred
this weekend and should be set up soon. Look for a book a month
reviewed
in the Castlelore.

*Knights Marshal – Lord Fasti*
– Were fighting at the park almost every
Sunday. We may have a few weeks this month off due to holidays
so double
checked the calendar. January should be more normal. We’ve had
Lots of
returning fighters from the past lately and some new fighters
getting
started. This Sunday will be friends in the park with sticks
since I am
attending the Long Nights Caravan event in Tampa Bay. Don’t
forget about
Tuesday sword drills and pel practice at HRH Gunnar’s home and
Wednesday
practice at the Home of Ragnarr and Hraffen.
*Rapier Marshal – Lord Johann*
– More Marshalls are being trained. Sunday
practice will be official for rapier. Don Cullen will be having
knee
surgery next week and shoulder surgery on the 22nd so we will
be down a
marshal…watch for announcements of practices due to this possible
shortage.
Johann is making a punch for testing the fabric armor for rapier.
A class
was requested on this punch test at C&C and will likely
be added to the
lineup.
*Webminister – Lady Katerina
*– We are switching over to Dreamhost for our
webserver in the next few days. Bear with us if there are small
issues
but we really shouldn’t see any change outwardly. Use the Website
it is
very helpful!!
* Update since Thursday – The website has been
transferred without incident
we are up and running on the new host. Good job Kat, Ambra,
and Ragnarr
getting that done.
*Shire Business – HL Ambra*
– After some discussion at last month’s
populace meeting it was noted that doing a kingdom event this
year may not
be a financially successful investment. We could still decide
to do one
where the Shire does not take any risk but also receives no
benefit
monetarily. However we would be doing the work. So the motion
was made to
reverse the decision to put in a bid for the September Coronation
event at
this time. Motion seconded and the motion carried 22 to 2. It
was noted
that if a member of the populace wanted to put together a bid
the Shire
would happily look at it but it would have to be the Kingdom
backed type of
bid. Further there are expected to be ~3 bids going in to the
next Kingdom
officers meeting from other groups for that one event and we
may just be
happy with our 5 events planned this year.
Last populace meeting we discussed the possibility
of becoming a Barony and
it was posted that we would be taking a vote to start the process.
The
discussion was reviewed and a few new questions were asked.
Multiple
couples indicated they would be willing to be the Baron and
Baroness and
would also be happing considering it in the future as well if
not the first
time. The motion was made to begin the process of petitioning
the kingdom
seneschal to upgrade our status to Barony. The motion was seconded
and the
motion carried 24 for and 0 against.
Woo Hoo!! We are in for a long slow process
folks but let’s continue to
work together to make this the best decision for the growth
of our group.
