Welcome to the middle ages!

Welcome to the Shire of Castlemere, the Jacksonville FL chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism Inc.

"I'm Michaela Gibbons and I'm our local New Member contact also known as "Hospitaller" in the SCA. I'm also in charge of Gold Key, our loaner wardrobe for new members. If you have any questions or if there is anything you need please let me know. I'll be happy to help!

The Society for Creative Anachronism, or SCA, is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts, skills, and traditions of pre-1600s-century Europe. Our members study and take part in a variety of activities, including combat, archery, equestrian activities, costuming, cooking, metalwork, woodworking, music, dance, calligraphy, fiber arts, and much more. If it was done in the Middle Ages or Renaissance, odds are you'll find someone in the SCA interested in recreating it.

Getting started in the SCA can be an overwhelming experience and to help you with this ongoing learning process we offer biweekly New Member Classes prior to our regular group meetings and New Member Resources as part of our homepage.
