Word from the Autocrat:

Our second annual Trimaris Duke University: Summer Session was a success! I wanted to take the time to thank all that helped getting this event together. Without voluteers this wouldn't have succeeded.

First of all I wanted to thank Their Majesties King Gunnar and Queen Bryndis, and Duke Martin Lochner. I know that this event is their baby, and I was honored to be able to autocrat this in their stead. Thank you for helping and guiding me through this process. I know your schedule has been so busy during your reign, but you always seem to take the time to answer my questions and calm my fears.

Thanks to Baroness Kenet and her crew: Lady Jacqueline Delyonnaise, Lady Isabeau, and Lady Elizabeth McGregor. You brought us a lunch that was enjoyed by all. We originally thought the event would be about 80 people. How surprised and delighted were we that 138 adults came in to our event! You rose to the challenge and everyone was fed. I had many people tell me how wonderful it was to have such a refreshing lunch.

Thanks to Brother Joseph and Taylor for manning the Water station throughout the entire event. You helped in setup and tear down. During lunch, you helped serve. You are an outstanding example of service.

Thanks to those that helped run our lyst: Countess Sibilla Daine, m'Lady Brenna, Lady Jacquelle, HL Kateryna Atte Haganese, Don Cullen McGregor, Ld Landon, HL Ambra Michelli and m'Lord Godfrey. We had 80 fighters in the lyst, and each of you ran your own Bear Pit, a few of you for the very first time. The tournament was a great thing to watch and kept every one's attention until the very end. Congrats to Duke Baldar Langstriter for winning the tournament, and Baron Gõcauo Diego Ramiriç for placing highest in the unbelted class.

A HUGE thanks to Sir Cadwyd Enwir for all of his help. Cadwyd was my "Go To" guy. He works at Park Maitland School and was able to get us to have our event here for the last two years. Any questions I had, he had answers for. Without him, I couldn't have gotten anything done, and I am deep in gratitude for his tireless service before, during and after the event. At the beginning of the event he was on a golf cart and making sure the parking went smoothly. He headed the lyst, trained the new list volunteers and kept the tournament running smooth. After everyone left he was helping in the clean up and locking up the school. I am so glad to have worked with you, you are an inspiration!

Thanks to all of those that helped throughout the entire event: Lady Elizabeth and m'Lady Deborah for sign in; m'Lord Josiah, m'Lady Faythe, Ld Fasti, HL Johan Craft who did all of our heavy lifting in setting up table and chairs. Thank you Countess Cherish, Lady Carolina, Lady Katerina, Don Cullen and Lord Haulk for cleanup after the event.

I want to thank my kids: Faythe, Josiah and Deborah. Faythe retained for Queen Bryndis throughout the event, Josiah helped in set up, serving lunch, checking bathrooms and was just there when needed. Deborah checked bathrooms, helped serve lunch, and kept her mother hydrated whenever I walked by.

Thanks to Don Cullen and Lady Katerina for keeping me sane, making me sit down and realize there will be no disasters if I did and keep track of my stuff. It may seem little, but I was still going strong till the end of the event and to have people that looked after me so well, many thanks

Thank you to Mistress Mayken Van Der Aslt for creating a beautiful scroll to present to the owner of Park Maitland School. Sir Cadwyd is going to send me a picture of her when she gets the scroll. You did a great work of art, thank you so much!

Thanks Castlemere for giving me the opportunity to autocrat this event. I know that we did well and once again our shire shined! I look forward to serving anyway I can in future events.

My regards,

Aldis Samsdottir
